You control your emergency page section by section. Open Settings, then Privacy, to see one switch for each section. The same switches appear as eye icons on the sections of the Profile tab. Changing one changes the other.
The nine switches
- Conditions
- Allergies
- Medications
- Medical details: blood group and NHS number
- Doctor information
- Emergency notes
- Emergency contacts: names and phone numbers of both contacts
- Profile photo
- Health log entries: your recent entries. Off by default.
Your name is always shown, so the page can be matched to you.
The two controls
- Visibility switches. Switch a section off and it does not appear on your public page at all, whether or not a PIN is set. The details stay in the app.
- The PIN. With a PIN set, visitors first see only your name, photo and emergency contacts. The rest of your visible sections show once the 4 to 6 digit code is entered.
How they combine
- No PIN: every section you left on is public. Switched-off sections are not shown.
- With a PIN: visible sections beyond your name, photo and contacts wait for the PIN. Switched-off sections stay hidden, and the PIN does not reveal them.
- Health log entries show only if you switch them on, and, when a PIN is set, only after the PIN.
A sensible starting point
- Keep on: allergies, conditions, medications, emergency contacts. These are what responders need first.
- Consider a PIN if you would rather your NHS number, doctor details or notes were not open to anyone who scans.
There is no single right answer. It is your information and your call. Scan your own code after changing settings to see exactly what others will see.
