Medical ID does not use passwords. There is nothing to remember and nothing to steal. Instead, we email you a 6-digit code that signs you in.

How to sign in

  1. Open the Medical ID app.
  2. Enter your email address and tap Email me a code.
  3. Enter the code from the email and tap Sign in. On most phones the code appears above the keyboard, ready to tap.

The same email also has a sign-in link. Tapping it on the phone that has the app installed signs you in too.

If the email does not arrive

  • Wait a minute. Email can be slow.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Check you typed the email address your account uses. Tap Use a different email to change it.
  • Tap Resend code.

Good to know

  • A code works once, for 10 minutes, and only on the phone that asked for it. The link in the email works for 30 minutes.
  • After 5 wrong codes, request a new one.
  • If a sign-in link opens the app when you did not ask for one, the app asks you to confirm first. Tap Cancel if it was not you.
  • Never share a code or forward the email. Whoever has it can open your account.
  • You stay signed in on your phone. To lock the app between uses, turn on Biometric unlock under Settings, then Security.

Signing in on the website

The website uses the link only. Enter your email, tap Email me a magic link, and open the link within 30 minutes.
