You can delete your Medical ID account at any time, straight from the app. Because deletion cannot be undone, we first check it is really you.
Before you delete
- Deletion closes your emergency profile. Your cards, bracelets, wallet passes and shared links stop working when scanned or opened.
- Any family profiles under your sign-in are closed too.
- If you want a copy of your health log, export it first. See Export your data.
How to delete
- Open Settings, then Data & account, then Delete account.
- Tap Send verification code. We email a 6-digit code to your account address. It works for 10 minutes.
- Enter the code and tap Verify code.
- Confirm on the Delete account permanently? screen.
If the code does not arrive
- Check your spam folder.
- Go back and tap Send verification code again.
What happens next
- Your account is closed at once. Your name, email address and photo are removed from it, and you are signed out everywhere.
- The log of who viewed your emergency profile is deleted with the account.
- A wallet pass already on your phone stays there until you remove it, but its QR code no longer opens anything.
- Some records, such as order history, are kept for a limited time as described in our privacy policy. If you want everything erased, send an erasure request first from Settings, then Data & account, then Request my data, or email [email protected] afterwards.
Changed your mind?
Simply stop before the final confirmation. Nothing is deleted until you confirm. If you have already deleted your account and want to use Medical ID again, you can create a new account, but your previous profile and history cannot be restored.
